Most M1 applications are lodged via MonMaster, a platform that allows students to do the entirety of the admission procedure: selection of schools, compiling of requirements, follow-up on application status, and appealing decisions.​ MonMaster is currently only available in French; while browser plugins can translate the site for easier navigation, it is impossible to browse programs based on the language of instruction.

M1 programs that aren't catalogued on MonMaster require applications to be done through a channel specified by the university (emailing of applications to the admissions department, eCandidat platform, in-house portal, etc.).
