PUBLIC UNIVERSITY: UNDERGRADUATE

The 3-year licence is the equivalent of an undergraduate degree in French universities. Admission into the first year of the licence, or the L1 (with the 3rd and last year of the licence program being the L3) is done by submission of a dossier blanc or "white file".

One of the requirements of the dossier blanc is at least B2 level proficiency in French, as undergraduate courses outside of exchange semesters are taught either entirely or partially in French.

Submission of the dossier blanc to the French Embassy's cultural department typically runs from October to mid-December, with confirmed admissions being communicated in the first semester of the following year.
